Patterns

Every pattern is an end-to-end recipe: one recommended app, one deploy target, one exposure model. experimental means written but not yet validated end-to-end by a maintainer; stable means it has been.

You have (or just rented) an Ubuntu server and want a solid foundation for self-hosting: a deploy platform with a web UI, automatic HTTPS for apps you expose publicly, an admin interface that is NOT on the public internet, and backups — without hand-writing nginx configs and systemd units for every app.

You pay for a family password manager subscription (1Password, Bitwarden Premium, Dashlane) and want to self-host instead: full control over the vault data, no recurring cost, while keeping the things that make a managed service livable — browser extensions, mobile autofill, sharing passwords with family members, and emergency access.
